Kelly Hurley has been serving others for the past 18 years as a counselor, coach, and supervisor. 

 

Much of her experience has been working with people to heal the wounds left by neglect and trauma. Life is stressful, and Kelly has the specialty training and experience to help.

One area of Kelly's expertise is in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for restoration after trauma events. Sometimes, when clients encounter these stressful experiences they develop habits that are difficult to break even after the healing has occurred. Kelly has helped clients to stop smoking, reduce urges to use substances, and cease shoplifting. She also has specialty training to work with First Responders and Veterans.

Kelly completed the two-week intensive specialty training with the Linehan Institute – Behavioral Tech LLC for Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She has assisted clients in reducing suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, and substance use.

In 2003, Kelly graduated from Northwest University in Kirkland, WA with her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Arizona. She has actively worked in community mental health for 16 years. She was a Clinical Site Director for eight years.

When not helping others, Kelly enjoys the outdoors, reading a good book (not related to counseling), finding a new way to be creative, and being with her family. She is a member of her church and enjoys serving in the Student Ministries, on the Missions Committee, as well as teaching in Bible Study.
