My Journey to Becoming a Therapist

My path to therapy started earlier than you might think. As a kid, I loved playing teacher with neighborhood children in my friend's playhouse — but what I really loved was watching people feel heard and begin to grow. As I got older, I found myself naturally gravitating toward listening, observing, and supporting friends through hard moments. Seeing someone gain confidence and start to believe in themselves? That never gets old.

My Area of Expertise

After earning my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, I was fortunate to train in an environment that immersed me in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I discovered a deep passion for working with people who were highly suicidal or self-harming — walking alongside them as they moved from wanting to die to genuinely believing they could build a Life Worth Living. That work shaped everything. Over time, I've seen how DBT's emotion regulation skills can help a wide range of people build resilience and truly thrive.

How I Work With You

Most clients come in with two things at once: excitement about change and real anxiety about what that change will require. I hold both of those with you. Sometimes our work is about making changes — and sometimes it's about Acceptance, learning to be at peace with what is. Not everything needs to be fixed.

I work at the pace your nervous system can handle. We'll move intentionally, making sure that what shifts in our sessions actually sticks — in your daily life, and for years to come.

What Makes This Practice Unique

You do.

A Little About Me Outside the Office

When I'm not in session, you'll likely find me outdoors, lost in a good book (nothing work-related, I promise), exploring a new creative outlet, or spending time with my family. Faith is an important part of my life — I'm an active member of my church, where I serve in Student Ministries, on the Missions Committee, and as a Bible Study teacher.
